Industrial Design Object

Asymmetrical 3D Organic Shape

2014

For my product expression class at Lund Univeristy, I shaped a 3D organic object from foam using a variety of tools. This object is an asymmetric organic shape with a very smooth texture. The smooth curves of the object fit nicely into your hand. Once you have it in your hand, you are fascinated by it curves and textures.

Skills/Tools used:

  • 3D CAD design using Solidworks

  • Drawing and sketching utilizing shading and colors to show 3D shape

  • Hand tools: saws, files, dremel, sand papers

  • Finishing techniques: foam filler, various sand papers, polish, spray painting, clear coat
