Auditory Language Platform

2014

Phoics is an auditory language learning platform to help students speak and properly pronounce new languages. By using auditory analysis and signal processing, our application can record the sounds of the user pronouncing a word and compare it to an expert pronouncing the word. By analytically comparing the pronunciation, users can visually see how their pronunciation differs, and properly correct their speech.

The above slideshow depicts a demo written in Python using the Django web framework. Although just a demo, this application was helpful in organizing our thoughts.

The above slideshow depicts a demo developed in Photoshop to demonstrate how the app would look and function on a mobile device, our primary platform. This visual example was helpful in portraying the idea of the app as well as organizing the technical requirements needed to turn this idea into fruition.
