Football Passing Machine
2020-2021
I consulted a local entrepreneur to build The Football Passing Machine (FPM), which a toy to practice catching a football. I translated customer requirements into technical requirements to develop engineering metrics. I generated concepts for the different apparatuses used in this device. I performed theoretical calculations to prove our design met the technical requirements. I developed an electro-mechanical system to release the football under tension. The elector-mechanical system consisted of a DC motor in a four-bar linkeage system to increase the force applied for release. Wrote firmware for the arduino to play music, interpret button presses, and actuate a DC motor using limit switches. Prototype construction to assembly the device.
